Course Structure

The College of Contract Management’s CIOB Professional Development Programme consists of 3 units. These 3 units have different sub-units to ensure you are being supplemented with enough information that you need to know and learn about the construction discipline.

After your successful completion of the PDP, candidates are exempt from the Professional Review. This is following a Final Assessment by a membership panel and you will be able to use the designation MCIOB.

Entry Requirements

To register for the CIOB Professional Development Programme (PDP), you will need to have a degree or be working towards a degree. You are considered eligible for this programme if you are:

A graduate with a construction-related honours degree, including a non-accredited degree
A graduate with a non-construction related honours degree and working within the industry
A part-time student undertaking a construction-related degree
An International graduate with accredited degrees or a CIOB membership via an Individual Assessment

Take note: Candidates who wish to apply for PDP who have a degree not related to construction must complete 3 years in industry before they can become chartered. You also need to be working in a suitable role, such as a junior management position within the built environment or construction industry.
